I came to New York with my wife and son as a refugee five years ago. We hoped to begin a new life.
I wanted to find a job. But, a representative of a popular New York immigrant services center explained to me that I have no chance of getting a job at my age. I was 62. My English was very poor and I was ill. I was very disappointed and was depressed.
Two years later, I got used to it. I got my Social Security I.D. Now I am content with my life. I am grateful to America.
