[Click on the cover art picture on the right to see the credits for this amazing musical production]
The goal of our Film Festival is to collect six films portraying immigrant stories from around the world to include on a DVD that will circulate with our new book.
The Istanbul, Turkey, Premiere will be held in November 16, 17 and 18, 2006 in the prestigious CRR - Cemal Resit Rey Konser Salonu (Concert Hall). The New York City Premiere will be held in December 9, 2006 at the Tribeca Cinemas Six winning films will be selected and awarded a spot on the DVD.
As well, our first 6 winners will be automatically nominated for The Outstanding Young Persons Award (TOYP) in Turkey. This is an International Awards program run by JCI in all member states that serves to recognize individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 years who exemplify the best attributes of the World's young people. The aim for TOYP is to recognize achievement by our young people and to inspire others working in similar areas across Turkey and the World. By recognizing these young people, JCI encourages them and others to seek excellence and serve others. We will nominate our short film contest winners under the category six "Contribution to children, world peace, and/or human rights" or category four under "Cultural achievement" for TOYP 2007 – Turkey. www.toyp-tr.org
We also encourage you to nominate young people contributing to immigrants, refugees, children, world peace and human rights for TOYP in your states. You can visit www.jci.cc/programs/ for more information. There is a TOYP competition in each JCI chapter. Thus, JCI contributes to prepare better leaders, who will create better societies.
