"The world is full of partial stories that run parallel to one another, beginning and ending at odd times. They mutually interlace and interfere at points, but we cannot unify them completely in our minds."
-William James
In our book, New NY Crossroads, we bring you the stories of America's immigrants and their extraordinary life experiences. Our hope is that you will find great value for yourself in the stories of others. We believe you will recognize parts of yourself in many of the thoughts, experiences and day-to-day activities so courageously chronicled by these brave new Americans. This book offers a new paradigm for day to day living that will transform the way you see, feel and interact with the world around you. Ultimately, you will have a new experience of yourself and a renewed appreciation for your own existence. It is through this story telling that we will convey the rich wisdoms of human beings and help preserve and expand our appreciation of the diversity that ultimately unites us and makes us whole.
We make connections every day and sometimes they go unnoticed. These connections trigger something in us, perhaps an unseen force, and we suddenly make a difference in someone's life. We can find meaning in our lives by recognizing the power of these connections and the important role they play in the unfolding of our life and the lives of those around us. We are connected, but now we endeavor to be conscious of it.
"We cannot understand the mystery of life, of energy. All we can do is remain open to it, to clear the way for it, and then let it move through us."
-Sarah Ban Breathnach
In New NY Crossroads, we take an intimate look at the real lives of New York immigrants. Each chapter lovingly recreates the interview between storyteller and our authors. Since in life it is our relationships that define us, our interactions with others are perhaps the most important moments of our existence. Our source for these "real" stories is our web site: www.newnycrossroads.com. This web site holds an ever growing number of stories from people who desire to tell their story, to make new connections and to give outside life to their innermost experiences.
"Even the most ordinary life is a mystery if you look close enough."
-Kennedy Fraser
"What an interesting life I had. And how I wish I had realized it sooner!"
-Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette
We invite you to post your story and share your connection with others. New NY Crossroads offers everyone an opportunity to learn things outside their own culture and to explore new paradigms for thinking and living. Simply put, you will discover the importance of your role in the lives of others and that your existence, regardless of how you perceive it at this moment, makes all the difference in the world.
Please continue to enjoy our web site, www.newnycrossroads.com, and share with us the growth and development of our book. We anticipate the book to be available by December 2005
Thank you.

The extraordinarily talented and soulful New York City composer, Richard Holley, has created an inspired song that celebrates the courage, love, trouble and triumph of the immigrant experience. We proudly offer this remarkable single for sale through Pay Pal. Richard is so committed to making a difference in the world that he helped create Food For Children, an organization that accepts donations to help get food to children around the world who need it. This modest organization is administered on a volunteer basis, so all donations go directly to the children. Richard and the team at New NY Crossroads will donate a portion of the CD and Book to Food For Children.
